A New Multi-Disciplinary Team for

Bureau and Putnam Counties

Bureau-Putnam County SART

This community-based team will coordinate the response to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The team will comprise Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs),  hospital personnel, victim advocates, health departments, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other professionals with a specific interest in assisting victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.  The Bureau-Putnam County SART will provide comprehensive and specialized services, ensure continuity of care for victims, enhance evidence collection, and increase public safety.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bureau-Putnam County SART is to counter the trauma of sexual assault and domestic violence with a sensitive and competent multidisciplinary response; to support efforts to restore the victim’s well-being; and to bring responsible persons to justice.

Vision Statement

The Bureau-Putnam County SART will ensure the coordination of a consistent, respectful, victim-centered response to sexual assault and domestic violence.

Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs) help survivors through the maze of community services available to them, and uses the experiences of survivors to improve those services.
